The Annis' come to Savannah!

We had some special visitors this week at the Lavinder house!  Nathan and Kara Annis (and their dog Jaq, Audrey enjoyed her best bud from way back as well) came down for a couple of days.  Daniel took some time off and we toured the city of Savannah with them.  It was a ton of fun to catch up with them.  It was like a mini vacation for us as well!  Savannah is such a cool city to live in...it was great to see that we can be at home and still have a vacation-like experience!
Here we are at Sushi Time Towa...Nathan didn't believe me that the sushi for two early bird special came out on a boat.  He thought it would be a big plate, and in his words "not a giant ship with masts and nets."  I told him it was a boat.  Great weekend filled with great food and fellowship with our friends.
Thank you so much for coming, it was a GREAT "vacation" for us!

On a side note...this was our first strawberry to be harvested!  Super tasty, and according to Daniel, a $40 strawberry.  $40 because that is the total cost of all the supplies for my 19 strawberry plants.  And he then calculated how much this strawberry costs per pound...$640 per pound.  Anyways, the price will go down as more strawberries are harvested, 15 more are almost ready.

We had strawberry plants at your place in California. There is nothing better than picking your own strawberries fresh every morning!

You inspire me! I have tried to no avail to grown something, whether its flowers or herbs in both FL & AL...everything died on me. Hoping the lack of humidity and non-sandy ground will help me out in Montana! But way to go you, that looks delicious! (And organic! Ha)
