Haircut time!

Nolan had his first official "cut" in November but I only trimmed his bangs and around his ears.  I have been threatening to cut it lately because it had gotten really shaggy and kind of goofy looking at times. Daniel didn't want me to because he said he liked it to look goofy.  So...I did a little bit of research yesterday (i.e. watched youtube videos), borrowed my neighbors hair cutting scissors, and set out to cut Nolan's hair (before Daniel got home from work).  Tips included giving your child a sucker and turning on a favorite video.  Nana and Tutu (Daniel's parents) got Nolan a Kidsongs video, which is a show that used to be on PBS and Daniel watched it growing up. Nolan LOVES them and doesn't get to watch them that often...we save them for times like these haha.  The boy didn't even touch the sucker the whole haircut he was too mesmerized by Kidsongs.  Never budged once the almost 30 minutes it took me to cut his hair. (neighbors' scissors are layering scissors so it took longer than it should have, next time I plan on buying straight scissors and layering scissors to have for our own use)  I think that for the first time cutting hair without clippers I did a decent job.
Before (what are you doing to me Mom?)

Before

About to get started, watching Kidsongs.

After, finally tasting the sucker :)

After.

Not that great of pictures for the back after shot.  Hard to get him to not look at me while I am taking a picture.  My goal was for his hair to look like it does naturally but shorter and I accomplished that....just need to practice on bangs more.   Cut them a little too short :)  good thing hair grows back.
