Our plans to head to Tennessee for Thanksgiving this year have been cancelled. We are saddened by this but realize it is the best thing to do. We started fostering a great dane puppy last Wednesday, all my fault, Daniel gave in to me. She was going to be euthanized if no one fostered her, her owners said she got away but they didn't have proof of ownership so it was more expensive to get her released from the pound...and they couldn't afford it. Whether or not that is true, we don't know. Well, this doggie is sick, we didn't know it to begin with, and now Audrey is sick. Just a case of kennel cough, which is very common in shelters and kennels. We took them to the vet yesterday, nice size bill :) and they should be fine in about a week to two weeks. We are highly irritated with the shelter about not warning us and our neighbor who got us into this to begin with, but that is too long of a story to get into. So traveling with two sick dogs who could make family members' dogs sick didn't seem right. So we are staying here in FL. Here are some pictures of Audrey and her new friend...we call her Molly (or Daniel calls her "the little one"), although she would probably answer to the name Audrey before Molly. She will hopefully be adopted soon. She is sweet and wonderful, already potty trained and has fairly good manners. Previous owners must have let her on furniture and jump up on them...but we are working on that, and she has caught on quickly. So today Daniel and I are trying to decide what to do for Thanksgiving. As of now our options are: eating at the Grand Buffet (Daniel's idea-he loves Chinese), cooking traditional Thanksgiving foods here to have leftovers to eat on for the rest of the week, or heading to a friend's place who is hosting Thanksgiving Dinner for military friends that aren't gong out of town for this holiday...we will let you know what we decided later. We will miss seeing all of our family and friends this Thanksgiving, expecially since we know that this was our last opportunity to travel before the baby arrives. So no more visits until at least February, probably more like April, depending on Daniel's schedule...although everyone is more than welcome to come here for a visit...just let us know in advance :)

Awe, she's so cute! I'm glad you rescued her, but sorry about all the trouble you went through with her being sick. So, what did you guys wind up doing for Thanksgiving? We had 17 people over.
